Koen Park
Koen Park is Ian Hawgood, of Tokyo, Japan and London, England. Ian has been recoding and working in sounds for years, with numerous projects to his name, including Oh No Nuno!, Apocomeno and more. His ambient work under his real name began seeing release on the netlabel Resting Bell in 2007, to wide acclaim. He followed by launching Koen Park, the warbled, melodic side of his musical output. 2008 would become a very dense year of releases for Ian, as he unloaded months and years of recordings in a very short span of time. His 'Tegami Beauty' 3" as Ian Hawgood was released through U-Cover, while as Koen Park, he had two instant sell-outs of his ''84-'85' 3" through the October Man label. He even had some cassette releases through the Best Kept Secret label, and several free releases through esteemed netlabels such as Rope Swing Cities and Headphonica. His wonderful full-length for Experimedia, entitled 'Everything In Shadow' came into the hands of I, Absentee, who invited him onto 'The Twilight Fires' series, to provide some remixes. A double-disc remix album opus, 'Remixes, Reworkings And Reimaginings', came through I, Absentee in Spring 2009, coupled with a companion 3" via Smallfish. Ian has recently started his own labels, Home Normal, Tokyo Droning and Nomadic Kids Republic, to wide acclaim. More work with I, Absentee is planned.
