Milieu is Brian Grainger of Columbia, South Carolina. Brian began making music in the late 1990s. After years of teaching himself guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, he introduced computers to his songwriting around 2002. He would go on to become one of electronic music's most prolific producers, using many aliases and working with numerous labels around the world. The Milieu work first surfaced in 2005, via esteemed netlabels such as Rope Swing Cities, as well as physical labels like U-Cover. In the following years, Brian amassed an incredible body of work alongside many of electronic music's most respected labels. Infraction, Attack 9, Unlabel, Boltfish and Akward Silence are just a few of the names who've released his work. Brian is a full-time musician these days, recording under his own name, Milieu, Coppice Halifax and many more, He also runs Second Sun Recordings, Install and Milieu Music, which handles most of his present output. After many remixes and guest spots with I, Absentee, it was decided to bring Milieu's classic 2007 album 'New Drugs For Nuclear Families Of The Seventies' back as a new, expanded edition. It surfaced in summer 2009 at I, Absentee.
