SOW is the musical output of Anna Wildmith (1963 - 2016). Originating in Berlin in the late 1980s alongside Raymond Watts (PIG, KMFDM), the first material arrived via the "Manripe" 12" in 1989. From there, Anna guested on many of PIG's widely-acclaimed releases, such as "Praise The Lard", "Sinsation" and many more. SOW's debut full-length, entitled "Je M'Aime", was completed in 1994. SOW's unique lyrics and spoken word monologues, which alternated between French and English languages, clashed over sounds from some of the most esteemed and respected experimental musicians of the era. The album showcased music from Watts, J.G. Thrilwell (Foetus) and Jon Caffery (Kids On TV, Einstürzende Neubauten). 1998's "Sick" arrived via Martin Atkins' Invisible Records in the USA. Commissioning tracks from an incredible line-up from around the world, "Sick" featured Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM), Rob Henry (Euphonic), Günter Schulz (Slick Idiot, KMFDM), Martin King (Test Dept.) and many more. SOW supported with a US tour opening for Martin Atkins' legendary group Pigface (Anna also sang in the Pigface line-up for the tour). After a decade of near silence, SOW returned with "Dog" for I, Absentee, with music provided by PIG and Euphonic. "Dog" is a genre-defying journey. Alternating from aggressive and contemplative, the album that can only be called SOW. Anna Wildsmith passed away due to illness on September 30, 2016 in Southern France at the age of 53. However, her legacy continues to touch many lives.
